If you’re coming from Sihanoukville or Kep, it’s even shorter. Most resorts in the area can arrange pickup from the Kampot town center, which is super convenient.

For the more adventurous souls (like yours truly), you can rent a motorbike in Kampot town and make your way there. The roads are mostly paved now, though you might encounter some bumpy patches. Just follow the river road and keep an eye out for the signs – it’s pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it.

Tips for Visiting

First off, book your accommodation in advance, especially during peak season. This place isn’t exactly a secret anymore! And while you’re here, don’t forget to try the famous Kampot pepper – it’s literally world-famous, and many resorts use it in their cooking.

Bring plenty of mosquito repellent – those little buggers can be pretty active near the river, especially during sunset. Oh, and speaking of sunset, make sure you’re back at your resort for it.
