From my experience bouncing between seasons here, December through March brings the most reliable sunny weather and warmest temperatures – perfect for swimming and sunbathing! How to Get There

Getting to Playa Pescadores is part of the adventure! From Lima, you’ll wanna take the Pan-American Highway south to Paracas (about a 4-hour drive). Once in Paracas, the beach is just a quick 10-minute walk from the main square – just follow the shoreline south and you can’t miss it. I usually grab a tuk-tuk when I’m carrying beach gear, which costs just a few soles and takes about 3 minutes.

Tips for Visiting

Ok, so here’s what I’ve learned from my many trips to this gorgeous spot: Bring plenty of sunscreen – the Peruvian sun is no joke, especially with all that sand and water reflection! Pack some water and snacks since the nearest shops are a short walk away. If you’re into photography, sunrise and sunset are absolute golden times for shots – the light hits the water just perfectly.

The beach doesn’t have many natural shade spots, so bringing an umbrella is super smart. And speaking from experience (and one slightly crispy day), even if it looks cloudy, don’t skip the sunscreen! The wind can pick up in the afternoon, so morning visits tend to be more pleasant.
